Hey, when you join tumblr this is what you sine up for

I think these jokes are getting a bit derivative…

Are euclidean me? Cos these jokes are making me want to log off.

I’ll be square with you, this is a pretty divisive topic.

Now, now, I’m sure we can resolve the problem now that we’ve found the root of it.

I have taken it upon myself to point out

that things like pomme de terre and pineapple have “apple” in them because

once upon a time apple was the word for fruit

WOW NO WAY

yes

#the important part of a pine tree is that is has needles

Thirty seconds on Wiktionary would save a lot of confusion.

…Huh. It’s supposed to look like a pine cone.

Okay. I still don’t really see it, but okay.

And now I’m not sure whether or not to be glad that tumblr fucked up my attempt to insert a link to the etymology of “pine” because it means sap or resin or juice and damned if pineapples are not basically the juiciest fruit I know of.

I looked up “pineapple” and wikitionary says that the etymology is based on a pineapple’s resemblance to a pine cone.

yes that was why i wasn’t sure whether or not to be glad because both explanations make sense to me

now somebody just needs to explain why Juicy Fruit is neither juicy nor especially fruity.
